Thomas Gordon Van Horn passed away on July 29, 2010 while surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born Feburary 21, 1955 to Gordan Thomas Van Horn and Katherine (Clothakis) Van Horn, who preceded him in death. He was raised in the Sandy and Midvale area. He attended Hillcrest High School.
He married Robyn Day on August 13, 1974. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend.
He worked for State Street truck Stop for the last twenty-nine years. He loved the outdoors, boating, camping, vacations to Mexico, Lake Powell, and most of all family gatherings, where he was the main cook. He was the heart of the Van Horn family.
He is survived in death by his wife, Robyn; daughter Amber(VanHorn) Brown; son-in-Law Chris Brown; son Gordan Thomas Van Horn; granddaughter, Autumn Van Horn; brothers, George Van Horn (Yvonne), John Van Horn, Anthony Van Horn (Sandra), Steven Van Horn (Tammy), Foster Spendlove; sisters, Elaine (Van Horn) Calderon, and Penelope (Van Horn) Wixom (Scott); thirty nephews and nieces; and twenty-three grand-nephews and nieces.
Thomas will be forever in our hearts. He is missed and loved by his many friends and family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 300 South 300 West, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Burial: Midvale City Cemetery, 7500 South Frontage Road.
